Hey guys,
Im sure some of you guys were wondering how the new elite stands compared to the Halo 3 style.  Anyway I have two pics here of the new one from the box set and the series 8 TRU orange Elite.  I have noticed much improvements in the articulation in both the legs and the head of the new elite.  Also the arms seem to have as much articulation as the spartans do now.  I will let the pics speak for themselves.  Let me know if there are other parts of the elite that you want pics of!

Yeah, the scale is just completely different...

At least it will be good for people just getting into the game. Bigger figures are always better, make you feel like you get more value.

The question is if we'll ever get Brutes now since Elites are so huge. I'm guessing a big no.

Brutes appear in Reach, so probably we'll get them. Hunters? Maybe not anymore.

I really don't understand the decision of making the figures bigger. Yeah there were quality issues, but that was mostly in S6. Series 7 and 8 were a great improvement. I haven't heard of a S7 or S8 Dare or a Forge that breaks up easily. Not even the Marines. My only complaint would be articulation, but Dare and Forge have a really good articulation. Heck, Hasbro can make smaller SA figures.

The elites seem the right size for the reach game, but I am a little bummed in regards to how they compare to the rest of the halo 3 figures...but Im slowly getting used to the scale.  There is a clear night and day difference between the two elites though.

Holy growth hormones, Batman! Those Reach Elites are monsters.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

I do not like this. Not one bit. This throws the entire McHalo line out of whack. If a person was a loose figure collector, it would be best to display the Reach stuff separately and away from the previous lines.

Trust me, I do welcome larger figures, but consistency would have been nice.

I agree with the scale being too different to intermix figures, the regular soldiers will be the tell tale sign for me.

No, I know they're in Reach, but they're going to be too big to fit into the blister card. That's the whole reason we sized down the line in the first place, so they could fit. Now that they're not the main badguys I'm guessing we won't be seeing much of their ugly mugs.

I figure the size thing is a combination of wanting to do away with articulation problems forever (It seemed to be caused by smaller parts), a need to deal with smaller main characters who might actually seem a little puny at the old scale (Let's be frank here, the Marines looked pretty dumb in package, they had way too much space), and the opportunity of starting anew with a different line.

the real question is when they start doing throwback figures to old games, will it be in this new scale or something else entirely?

I hope not, a Mark V Chief bigger than the Mark VI one? Not good.

Also, does this scale change mean the vehicles have changed too? If Halo 3 Spartans can't even drive a damn Ghost I'm gonna be angry.

It really does make you wonder what the exact reasons were to bump the scale up.  I think Im just going to have to separate reach figs from the halo 3 figs too.  Does anyone know if this is the new style of standard for their halo figs or if its only for the reach guys?

I actually like the new scale on them. From what I'm hearing with the advance wave, articulation is GREATLY improved. It's probably because on the 5" figures, the parts were smaller, preventing good articulation, and breaking more easily. I personally would have preferred it if McF started the line with this size. As for the brutes, I can guarantee that McF will make brutes. Sure, they'll probably have them in different packages than the rest (because they'll be FREAKIN HUGE). Although, I do want to see a Hunter deluxe pack like the last line, but I doubt they'll go to the lengths of making Hunters (because they'll be FREAKIN HUGER). But, I'm not getting my hopes up, because hell, they're making full scale vehicles now, right? Why not a measily Hunter? Sure, it'll probably be larger than the warthog, but you know what I mean.

Yea I was hoping that they wouldnt be that big of a difference in size either.  They do have great articulation though, which to me is worthy of buying atleast one of them.  But Im sure I will buy more....

I really think you're way too sure of this Brutes thing. They are at best side characters now; think like the Engineer and Prophets.

I love the size of the Elite, but dislike the ankle articulation and the feet
